KUTUNZA SAYARI YETU

Overview
Kutunza Sayari Yetu means ( taking care of our planet) aims at introducing the ideas of Doughnut Economics to Ugandan Refugee schools and celebrating celebration of Global Donut Days 2024.
The rivers that fly on the sky are made of evapotranspiration, or the breathing vapor that forests produce after a process that "pumps" water from the ocean… even being far from the coast. Through this we have rain on inland regions
The heart of our work lies in Doughnut Uganda, where we strive to secure a good life for the children in Uganda's refugee settlements. Our vision of a good life encompasses values such as love, hope, joy, community, collaboration, trust, non-violence, compassion, respect, and participation. In the global context, we aim to instill values of sustainability, wisdom, human rights, environmental stewardship, and appreciation of beauty.
We believe in living within the planet's means, respecting the delicate balance of our ecosystems.
The Doughnut Economics Framework
Inspired by Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics, we embrace a sustainable framework for future development. This theory challenges the notion of perpetual economic growth, advocating for balance over exploitation. The ideal society resembles a life jacket or ring doughnut, where the outer edge signifies the planet's ecological limits, while the inner edge represents essential social boundaries—health, wealth, justice, education, and peace.
